When it becomes necessary to end a relationship, this ritual can make the parting calmer and easier to bear.
Set side by side — close together — two red candles. Beneath each, place a square of parchment on which has been written the names of those who are to be separated. Light both candles and let them burn for about ten minutes. Snuff the flames, move the candles apart so there is about two inches between them. Repeat the ritual daily, moving the candles further and further apart until the purpose is accomplished.
